This is a C-Class but not as you know it

It’s lower, sportier, angrier but shorter, Mercedes-Benz is proud to announce the launch of the “Baby Benz” with only two doors and a very sexy back. If you think the C-Class sedan looks good then take a good long look at the C-Class Coupe, bet you wouldn’t be able to look away even if you want to!

The C-Class Coupe is the latest addition to the Mercedes-Benz Dream Cars Collection. With a sporty front section dominated by a diamond radiator grille and a long bonnet that gives way to a crouched greenhouse that has lines to seemingly flows into the powerful-looking rear end, the Coupe is hard to miss.

For increased sportiness, Mercedes-Benz opted for a high beltline and frameless doors paired with free-standing exterior mirrors. Clean lines are massaged into the sides to create vivid light and shadow effects while the long drawn-out dropping line gives the car its typical coupe look. Mercedes has also lowered the suspension by 15mm on the coupe to pair with 18-inch AMG 5 spoke light alloy wheels and 19-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels.
There are three models to choose from, the base C200 Coupe, C250 Coupe and the top of the line C300 Coupe. Each model comes with AMG Line as standard which means that all three models will have special bumpers and sills featuring AMG body styling, a diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome.

The C-Class Coupe sits on a new four-link front axle with wheel suspension decoupled from the spring strut to give the car the most agile handling characteristics. The rear sits on multi-link independent rear suspension with five-links to ensure excellent wheel location qualities and supreme straight-line stability.

Mercedes-Benz has got two suspensions with selective damping on offer for the Coupe. The Agility Control suspension is available exclusively for the C200 Coupe that lowers the car by 15mm. The C250 Coupe and C300 Coupe come with a sports suspension with tauter springing and damping including Sports Direct-Steer system for even better handling.

There are three petrol engines on offer for each of the models. The two-litre, in-line four engine in the C200 produces 184bhp at 5500rpm and 300Nm of torque at 1200-4000rpms, while the same engine powers the C250 Coupe to a 211bhp tune at 5500rpm and 350Nm of torque from 1200-4000rpm. The C300 also shares the same two-litre engine but that unit churns out 245bhp at 5500rpm and a massive 370Nm of torque at 1300-4000rpm.
All engines are mated to a 7G-TRONIC Plus seven-speed automatic transmission to power the rear wheels. The C-Class Coupe in its C200 form will make that century sprint in 7.3 seconds to a top speed of 235kph while the C250 manages it at 6.8 seconds all the way to 250kph. The C300 on the other hand shaves 0.8 seconds off the C250, making the dash in just 6.0 seconds flat with a top speed of 250kph (we suspect this is electronically limited!).

With a shape like the C-Class Coupe, you can expect an extremely low drag coefficients (Cd values) reading. The Coupe boasts a Cd value of 0.26 making the car very slippery indeed. Select the driving mode of your choice from the Dynamic Select switch, either Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Individual, and you will get the best B-road monster out of the C-Class Coupe ever!

Not only is the Coupe fast but Mercedes-Benz has made sure to build the car safe as well. The Coupe has an intelligent lightweight construction that uses massive amounts of aluminium to make the car lighter than its predecessors. The wings, bonnet and boot lid are made up of light-alloy components. Combine all those with high-strength materials the Coupe not only follows the Mercedes-Benz tradition in meeting not only all international laws but also the more stringent internal Mercedes-Benz safety requirements.

Other safety assistance includes Attention Assist with adjustable sensitivity which warns the driver of inattentiveness and drowsiness and Collision Prevention Assist Plus which includes Adaptive Brake Assist to prevent collisions or to minimise damage. All these, along with the various sensor technologies such are based on the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive concept.

Inside the car, drivers and passengers are allowed to stay connected via the Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone with data option, there is also a tethering feature to make the Audio 20 system internet capable.

The most advanced form of COMAND Online is only available on the C300 Coupe that comes with a larger display which allows digital TV/ radio reception and LINGUATRONIC voice control to name a few. The Audio 20 CD on the C200 Coupe and the C250 Coupe and COMAND Online all offer basic telephony as standard.

So connect your phone and blast your favourite music on the optional Burmester sound system that has fastened itself onto the space within the cross-member and side member in the body structure as a resonance chamber for the bass speakers.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has stickered the new generation C-Class Coupe with RM308,888.00 for the C200, RM333,888.00 for the C250 and RM388,888.00 for the C300 pricetags, all prices are on-the-road without insurance.
