Perodua’s best-selling models will now be on sale in the rich country of Brunei! A total of 310 units of Myvi 1.5 SEs and Alza 1.5 SEs have been shipped to Bandar Seri Begawan to be sold to the Kingdom’s residents.
The local car maker will be strengthening the brand’s presence in the ASEAN region with the start of export business. Perodua had previously sold a total of 2300 Perodua Kancils in Brunei when the brand started their export business in 1996.
“This is a major step forward for Perodua to strengthen our brand presence in the region as we strive to become a player in ASEAN auto market in the years to come,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
“We believe that there is demand for these models in this country as the acceptance of compact vehicles is gradually growing.”
Currently, Perodua exports to Singapore, Mauritius, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Fiji. The Myvi on the other hand is exported to Indonesia badged as the Daihatsu Sirion. Jerrica Leong
